It’s been more than a year since Starbucks closed a location inside Union Station back in July 2022. At the time, Starbucks cited safety issues. But the NLRB now says the company actually closed doors to keep employees from unionizing.

More than a year after Starbucks closed a location inside Union Station, federal regulators are calling for it to be reopened. It’s one of 23 stores nationwide listed in a complaint by the National Labor Relations Board.

Those for and against Prince George’s County’s proposed change to the tipped worker law rallied on Thursday. News4’s Darcy Spencer reports.

The strike would not include doctors and nurses, but would include medical technicians, pharmacists and optometrists.

Workers are calling for higher wages and safety improvements, citing “suffocating” temperatures inside the facility.
